The Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC), announces the appointment of four new members to the Board of Directors. Joining the Board of Directors are Socorro Vazquez, CEO, Toro Construction Corporation, Kevin Bastuga, Executive Vice-President, Signature Bank, Rich Negrin, Vice-President, Regulatory Policy and Strategy, ComEd and Luis Puig Jr., President, A.L.L. Construction Masonry Company.

“We welcome these four new members to the IHCC Board of Directors because they embody the spirit of community and bring talent, expertise and new energy to the table,” said Jaime Di Paulo, President & CEO, IHCC.

“We are very fortunate to count on their invaluable input as we continue to grow and strengthen the IHCC community.”

Socorro Vazquez is the CEO of Toro Construction Corporation managing an extensive portfolio of projects in commercial, residential and governmental construction where she focuses on developing new business markets, implementing high level strategies, managing operations and resources. Toro Construction was a finalist for the 2019 EY Midwest Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Vasquez is a proud member of the 2019 EY North America Winning Women class, a member of the Federation of Women Contractors, Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council (CMSDC) and The Hispanic American Construction Association (HACIA).

After 10 years working in Chicago’s middle-market banking industry, Kevin Bastuga and two of his colleagues saw a need for a new kind of business bank. As a founding member and Executive Vice President of Signature Bank, he works with his partners to lead strategy and manage the day-to-day operations. Their goal is to exceed the expectations by building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships and approaching each and every relationship with enthusiasm, honesty, and integrity. Bastuga is actively involved in the Chicagoland Chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization and is a Community Bank Council Member of the Risk Management Association.

Rich Negrin is a proven leader with more than 20 years of experience working on complex issues in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Rich is currently the Vice-President of Regulatory Policy and Strategy at Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), the largest electric utility in the state of Illinois. Negrin is responsible for rate strategies, regulatory policy outcomes, retail tariffs, processing of customer complaints, engagement with the Illinois Commerce Commission, regulatory compliance and alignment with other Exelon energy delivery companies. Negrin earned his bachelor’s degree from Wagner College and his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law. The Hispanic National Bar Association previously named him National Latino Lawyer of the Year.

Luis Puig Jr. is the President of A.L.L. Masonry Construction Co., Inc., a general contracting firm that was founded by his father, Luis Puig Sr. in 1959. Luis is working to further build on the foundation laid out by managing the growth of the company, overall operations, and resources. Starting his career as a bricklayer and after graduating from Bradley University in 1986 with a degree in Construction Engineering, Luis returned to A.L.L Masonry Construction Co., Inc. became an estimator, project manager, then Vice President before being named President in 2015. Since then, Luis has dedicated his efforts to creating a sustainable business model that spurs positive change for the City of Chicago. Luis currently serves on the board for the International Masonry Institute, The Masonry Contractors Association of Greater Chicago, Illinois Concrete Producers Association of America, and is a Representative for the Mason Contractors Association of America. In 2016, the Chicago Cubs recognized his company’s hard work when they announced A.L.L Masonry Construction Co., Inc. the recipient of the 10th Annual Jackie Robinson Most Valuable Diverse Business Partner.
