Dear IHCC Family,
Last week, I celebrated seven years as President & CEO of the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and I do so with deep gratitude, humility, and pride in what we have built together.
When I accepted this role, the IHCC was already a respected institution, but I knew our community deserved more, more access to capital, more visibility in the marketplace, more influence in policy, and more opportunity to compete and win in today’s economy. Over the past seven years, we have expanded our footprint across Illinois, strengthened our financial foundation, launched innovative programming, and positioned Latino-owned businesses as essential contributors to the economic future of this state.
Through moments of growth and moments of uncertainty, including a global pandemic that tested every entrepreneur we serve, the IHCC stood firm. We pivoted, advocated, and showed up when our business community needed us most. We became not just a chamber, but a lifeline. We carry that same resolve today as we support and serve our community amid the fear and uncertainty surrounding federal immigration actions.
None of this would have been possible without the extraordinary leadership of our Board of Directors. Your trust, strategic guidance, and willingness to invest your time, talent, and financial resources have allowed us to scale our impact and elevate our mission.
To our IHCC team, past and present, you are the engine of this organization. From late nights preparing grant applications, to coaching first-time entrepreneurs, to building partnerships that change the trajectory of families, your dedication defines who we are. We truly are who we are because of you.
