A natural-born entrepreneur, founder of several technology companies, and an active participant in the economic life of Chicago, Raul Rosas was named this February 1st as head of the Latinx Incubator Program, a unique strategic alliance between the world-renowned 1871 Business Incubator and the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC).

The organizations’ leaders that constitute one of the most ambitious projects nationwide regarding recruiting and training Hispanic young entrepreneurs went through an intense selection process. In the end, they decided that Raul Rosas –an old acquaintance and program advisor– was the best candidate to continue Liana Bran’s invaluable work. A few days ago, she took a step aside to undertake other personal projects.

Raul participated in the Founder Cohort of the Latinx Incubator, presenting his project Fluxee, which mixes the concept of virtual reality and artificial intelligence. With this, he has continued working as an advisor. Subsequently, he remained in this role and helped to develop several startups that emerged from the Latinx Incubator.

We are happy to have in the Latinx Incubator someone like Raul, with his experience and track record,” said Jaime di Paulo, President & CEO of the IHCC. “We need young talent to guide the new generations of Hispanic entrepreneurs to take advantage of the great opportunities offered by the development of new technologies and the businesses linked to them”.

Raul Rosas is also Venture Partner at Republic, an investment platform spun out of AngelList that allows anyone to invest in pre-seed to Series B startups. He is also a financial advisor at Mycocycle, LLC and a partner at Braintrust Collective.

I’m thrilled to serve as the next head of the Latinx Incubator. This brings my participation full circle as a founder participating in the first cohort, then as Entrepreneur-in-Residence, and now as Director”, said Raul Rosas.

“The incubator not only serves as a springboard in building up the pipeline of Latinx founders but also serves as a pivotal bridge to the broader technology ecosystem thanks to the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s partnership with 1871. The incubator has grown and evolved throughout the years, and I look forward to launching Cohort 8 on February 4th”

Rosas is an executive board member of the College of Business and Management at Northeastern Illinois University.

He studied at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he holds a B.S. in Finance, Management Information Systems, and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the State of Illinois.
