The Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce proudly announces Lourdes Duarte, co-anchor WGN-TV Evening News, will be the Emcee for our 30+1 Gala on Thursday, September, 30th, 2021. 

“Lourdes is one of our most trusted journalists in Chicago. She is also a sensitive Latina who understands the mission and values of the IHCC”, said Jaime di Paulo, IHCC President & CEO. “We are very proud of your career path and it is an honor that she joins us on the most special night of the year for our business community.”

Lourdes was born and raised in Chicago, to Cuban parents. She graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Growing up, she also lived in Puerto Rico and Florida. 

Prior to her role on the evening news, Lourdes was co-anchor of the WGN Morning News and a reporter for WGN News at Nine. Lourdes came to WGN-TV in September of 2007 as a general assignment reporter for the WGN Midday News, WGN Evening News, and WGN News at Nine.

Lourdes Duarte has won four Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards for general assignment and investigative reporting.

The IHCC 30+1 Gala, on September 30th, is set to begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception. The dinner and program, including award presentations, will start at 7 p.m.
