The Procurement Technical Assistance Center at Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC) constantly receives information from government agencies and construction companies interested in developing projects with minority contractors. We receive and publish:

Opportunity 1:

K-Five Construction is seeking subcontractor firms to bid on the Runway 4R-22L Rehab  – Trade Package 1 – Asphalt.

Scope requested includes but not limited to: K-Five is accepting lump sum bid proposals for the referenced project. Each subcontractor will be responsible for their own quantities of work.

General Description of Work: The work for which proposals are invited consists of the construction of the 43rd Street Pedestrian Bridge (SN 016-6203) over Metra and Illinois Central (CN) railroads and South Lake Shore Drive (US 41). The work includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Removal of the existing pedestrian bridge

• Construction of a new pedestrian bridge

• Construction of retaining walls

• Removal and reconstruction of pedestrians paths, bike trails, and sidewalks

• Roadway lighting relocation and furnishing and installing lighting on the bridge structure

• Relocation of Metra power and communication lines

• Restoration work for disturbed park areas

• Construction of a new playlot

This includes but is not limited to the construction of composite pavements, concrete curb & gutter, sidewalk & median, earthwork activities, installation of storm sewers, combined sewers, watermain, lighting, pavement markings, signing, streetscape elements, irrigation, and landscaping as described in the plans and detail specifications, including all appurtenant work and accessories, to the complete satisfaction of, approval and acceptance by the City.
