Dear IHCC Community,

I am sharing my recent experience at Dominican University, where I gave a keynote speech at their business school. During our encounter, I had the opportunity to discuss important topics such as the generational wealth of minorities, access to capital and contracts, and how we can increase Latino economic development by empowering them.

I’m honored and thankful to have received Dominican University’s 2023 James W. Haugh Entrepreneurship Award. This honor recognizes the effort and commitment of the complete IHCC team, who work tirelessly to promote entrepreneurship within and outside the Hispanic community.

Our alliance with Dominican University and other academic institutions is essential for promoting innovation and talent within our organization and the community. Our year-long partnership with the Aspen Institute has successfully launched a procurement academy pilot program for Latino entrepreneurs who are already seeing positive results. We remain committed to empowering and promoting economic growth within the Latino community.

I am thrilled to announce that the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Aspen Institute and Dominican University to launch a Procurement Academy tailored specifically for Latino entrepreneurs. This program provides the essential resources and training that Latino-owned businesses need to be successful in procuring.

Our commitment is to help people achieve the American Dream in their lifetimes so that future generations of Americans continue to strive, create and innovate. To achieve it, we must talk out loud about the importance of economic growth for Latinos so they can also be owners of firms and enterprises capturing the wealth.

“Extracting public value from the value created by the public is a unique opportunity for this administration”.

Finally, I emphasized the unique opportunity this administration has to extract public value from the value created by the public. We must build a fair system that includes Latinos in the public economy, and I urged the audience to consider the importance of this initiative.

Lastly, I want to express my deep gratitude to the IHCC community for your unwavering support and dedication to our shared vision of innovation, excellence, and success. Together, we can build a brighter future for Latino entrepreneurs and the communities they serve.

Sincerely,

Jaime di Paulo, IHCC President & CEO
