Jaime di Paulo, President & CEO of the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC), was invited this Monday, March 2nd, 2020, as a speaker, at the business breakfast of the North American Institute for Mexican Advancement (NAIMA), an organization founded by the respected Mexican businessman Sergio David Suárez.

The event, held at Casa Jalisco, in Melrose Park, IL, was attended by renowned personalities from the local political arena, such as the President of the Illinois State Senate, Senator Don Harmon, State Representative Chris Welsh, and the Mayor of Melrose Park, Ronald M. Serpico.

There was also a good lineup of businessmen from Jalisco who generate jobs and business opportunities in the Melrose Park area.

Jaime di Paulo talked about the importance and economic power that Hispanic businesses have in the state of Illinois, where we generate more than 18 billion dollars in taxes.

“When you ask someone what words you associate with Hispanics, many say: “work” or “effort”. When you ask that same person what words they associate with the Jewish community, everyone says “business”. We in this state generate far more economic development opportunities than any other minority and our struggle in the coming years is to achieve that recognition,” added Jaime di Paulo.

IHCC has doubled its number of associate members in the last year and aims to continue growing much more in 2020.

The organization is focused on multiplying the business opportunities of its members and promotes multiple assistance programs, networking events and commercial integration programs with Mexico, such as the one recently signed with the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce.

NAIMA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and implementation of initiatives. Their mission is to promote the active participation of the Mexican Community in North America, through economic, social and civic development.
